Armed Services Committee Advances Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board, Military Nominations

The Senate Armed Services Committee today voted by voice to report out a list of 1,285 pending military nominations in the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps, including the following general officer nominations:

• Lieutenant General Daniel R. Hokanson, ARNG, to be general and Chief of the National Guard Bureau; and
• General Gustave F. Perna, USA, for reappointment to the grade of general and to be Chief Operating Officer, Project Warp Speed.

In addition, in a separate voice vote, the Committee advanced the following civilian nominations:

• Joyce Connery to be a Member of the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board; and
  
• Thomas A. Summers to be a Member of the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board.

All nominations were immediately reported to the floor following the Committee’s action.
