SASC Approves Civilian Nominations

Washington, D.C. – The Senate Armed Services Committee today voted by voice vote to favorably report the following civilian nominations en bloc:

• Honorable Michael D. Griffin to be Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering;
• Mrs. Phyllis L. Bayer to be Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Energy, Installations, and Environment;
• Mr. John W. Henderson to be Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Installations, Environment, and Energy; and
• Dr. William B. Roper to be Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics.

All nominations were immediately reported to the Senate floor following the Committee’s action.
