U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) and Sen. Jack Reed (D-R.I.), Chairman and Ranking Member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, today released the full committee and subcommittee markup schedule for the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2020.
“Facing increasingly complex threats to our national security, our military leaders have called for timely resources to provide stability, predictability and continuity for our national defense. Passing the defense authorization bill is the next step to getting our men and women in uniform those resources and tools, and I am eager to get the process started next month,” Sen. Inhofe said. “Our priorities are supporting the implementation of the National Defense Strategy and continuing to rebuild our military. Together with Senator Reed, I am committed to maintaining the Committee’s tradition of strong bipartisan support for making sure our service members have the training and equipment they need to complete their missions and protect American families.”
“We have our work cut out for us as we craft the FY 2020 National Defense Authorization Act and the markup process is an important step in the process,” said Sen. Reed. “I look forward to working with Chairman Inhofe and our colleagues on the committee as we move forward with the NDAA, which is critical to our national defense and the well-being of our nation.”
